Out-of-School Learning: 826 National Resources

I am sharing a message for 826 National

“In your community and across the world, educators are banding together to navigate uncharted, historic territory in response to COVID-19. As we write this, UNESCO reports that over 776 million students across 85 countries have been impacted by school closures — but because they have you, we have hope. Thank you for guiding the way for students.

During times of uncertainty, we urge students to write and reflect, to create and find much needed solace in the world. In this spirit, we’re sharing resources geared directly for students — no facilitation required! Students can publish a zine using a single piece of paper or invent a miracle elixir. Students can write here, write now. And, while devices bring us together and facilitate essential learning, we recommend pausing from screens when possible, picking up a pen, and writing from the heart.

Please share 826 Digital with students and families. Our resources have always been free and designed to ignite a love of writing, whether in the event of a zombie apocalypse or during our current challenge.

Take good care, and write on,
The 826 Digital Team
