“What makes the Kerlan unique is that we are open access,” said Von Drasek, who is the Miranker Family Curatorial Chair of the Kerlan Collection. “Anyone can make an appointment to read corrected manuscript pages of ‘Because of Winn Dixie.’”
In the interview, Von Drasek delves into the history of the Kerlan, an exciting exhibit at Elmer L. Andersen Library, and the impact of a recent $2 million donation that will ensure that now and in the future, there will always be a children’s specialist at the helm of the Kerlan Collection.
