From the New York Times: “The virus can easily spread in dense places — in a packed subway car, for example, or at a rally or concert.

Social distancing refers to measures that are taken to increase the physical space between people to slow the spread of the virus. Examples include working from home, school closures and the postponement or cancellation of mass gatherings, such as the South by Southwest music, technology and film conference.

By maintaining a distance of six feet from others when possible, people may limit the spread of the virus.”

Being a person in the “high-risk” category, that is what I am doing.

 

What I Am Doing

I have been in touch with teachers in Italy who have been locked down and out of school for a few weeks now. It would be a gift to have new content for students. Authors and illustrators are creating videos of themselves reading aloud and writing prompts. I am going to be posting them here on the Blue Ox Review. Search #Covid19ReadAlouds.

How about creating a zine that is a collection of mythical creatures with words describing their attributes? How about creating trading cards with a drawing of a mythical creature on one side and the attributes on the other.
